St. Lazare
Incorporated in 1876, St. Lazare was settled by farmers,sawmill workers and iron ore miners.
Residential development accelerated with the completion of the Trans Canada Highway and the Ile aux Tourtes bridge in the 1960's.
 In the 1980's St. Lazare became one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Canada. Today, a commercial centre, a modern town hall, an active community centre, and a library and several new schools serve a population approaching 15,000.
