Hudson
Hudson is a small town founded in 1969 by the amalgamation of the Villages of Como, Hudson and Hudson Heights. Situated 35 miles west of Montreal, it has 9 miles of shoreline along the Lake of Two Mountains (Ottawa River). The total area of 5,400 acres is developed at only 50%.
The population of approximately 5,600 is composed of 23% French speaking,75% English speaking and 2% other languages. The average age is 38 years old. Some 63% are of the Protestant religion.
The Town has three schools, of which two are Anglophone and one Francophone as well as four churches, one Catholic, two Anglican and one United.
The small community is very fortunate to have a medical centre and a 95-unit home for citizens of 55 years of age and over, which is sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion.
We also have many social clubs of which three golf clubs, a yacht club and a tennis court.
There are five public parks, two of which are equipped with recreational facilities.
There are some 140 businesses in Town, 50% of which are of an arts and crafts nature.
